TYPES OF ARDUINO

Basically, if there is something that is in any way controlled by electricity, the Arduino can interface with it in some manner. And even if it is not controlled by electricity, you can probably still use things which are (like motors and electromagnets), to interface with it.
In other word, Arduino is described by its makers as “an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software,” whatever that means. In short, it is a popular open-source electronic board that is capable of controlling just about any DIY hardware project. And there’s a lot you can do with it.

There different type of Arduino such as Arduino Uno, Arduino NG, Diecimila, and the Duemilanove (Legacy Versions), Arduino Mega 2560, Arduino Mega ADK and Arduino LilyPad.

Here, I prove some example of Arduino board.

ADVANTAGES OF ARDUINO

From last preview, here I would like to share some of advantages about Arduino.
  • It is an open-source project, software/hardware is extremely accessible and very flexible to be customized and extended
  • It is flexible, offers a variety of digital and analog inputs, SPI and serial interface and digital and PWM outputs
  • It is easy to use, connects to computer via USB and communicates using standard serial protocol, runs in standalone mode and as interface connected to PC/Macintosh computers
  • It is inexpensive, around 30 euro per board and comes with free authoring software
  • Arduino is backed up by a growing online community, lots of source code is already available and we can share and post our examples for others to use, too!
I should also note that most of the developers of Arduino are based in Ivrea, just 40 minutes from Torino where we are located contacting, networking and collaborate with them in the future should be pretty easy.

WHAT IS ARDUINO?

Let me tell you guys, Arduino is not the new hardware. It was started in 2005 as a project for students user at Italy which is first placed to introduced the Arduino. As we all know by the history of how they were found the Arduino, they are consists many types of Arduino.

"Security alarm and GPS coordinate using Arduino"

Based on my project title above, first thing first, I will explain the meaning of Arduino and a little thing about Arduino.

Arduino is a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than your desktop computer. It's an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a development environment for writing software for the board.

Arduino can be used to develop interactive objects, taking inputs from a variety of switches or sensors, and controlling a variety of lights, motors, and other physical outputs. Arduino projects can be stand-alone or they can communicate with software running on computer (eg: Flash, Processing , MaxMSP). The boards can be assembled by hand or purchased preassembled the open-sourced IDE can be downloade for free.
The Arduino programming language is an implementation of Wiring, a similar physical computing platform, which is based on the Processing multimedia programming environment.

On the other hand, Arduino is an open-source platform used for building electronic projects.Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit board and a piece of software or IDE (integrated Development Environment) that runs the computers , used to write and upload the computer code to the physical board.

The Arduino platform has become quite popular with people just starting out with electronics, and for a good reasons. Unlike most previous programmable circuit boards, the Arduino does not need a separate piece of hardware (called a programmer) in order to load new code onto the board. Which is can be simply use a USB cable. Aditionally, the Arduino IDE uses a simplified version of C++ and making it easier to learn a program. Finally, Arduino provides a standard form factors that breaks out the function of the micro-controller into a more accessible packages.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

My name is Nur Amira Allya Binti Khalid
I’m studying at Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysia Institute and taking Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Data Communication.
Then, 2014 is being my final year.
So, before I graduated I need to complete my final year project as my study planners here which is:
“Security alarm and GPS coordinate using Arduino”
This is a commercial based FYP project designed based on international current market demand. Arduino is chosen because Arduino is a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than your desktop computer. Meanwhile Android is chosen because it is an open source code and widely used worldwide. Moreover, it is owned by Google which is the largest Search Engine Optimization in the world. Android also is utilized by Samsung as an interface for the tablet industry. Based on my project, Arduino and Android is used because I want to set alarm and GPS coordinate as a finder for car.
In this Blog, I am going to upload my progress

Till we meet again.
